Can I give Zakat to my brother?
You generally cannot give Zakat to your brother if he is financially dependent on you, because Zakat is meant for those outside your immediate family who are in need.
However, if your brother is financially independent and meets the criteria of a Zakat recipient, you may give him Zakat. The key condition is that the recipient must not be someone you are obliged to support, such as a direct dependent.
Zakat should be given to those who are poor, needy, or in debt, in accordance with Shariah guidelines.
