It’s hard to learn on an empty stomach, and even harder if you don’t know when you’ll have your next meal.
With 1 in 3 children arriving at school without enough food, this is a reality that some children carry into their classroom each day.
As a community, we have the power to change this – to ensure every child has access to the food they need to learn, grow, and thrive, and ease the burden on parents who are struggling. Together with the Rotary Club of Toronto, NZF Canada is Nourishing Futures, providing school meals to vulnerable children, right here in our own communities, and building a stronger foundation for healthier, more supported futures, in the classroom and beyond. Because no child deserves to go hungry.
The Reality for Children in Our Community
Across Canada, more children are arriving at school impacted by food insecurity. For many families, rising costs mean even a simple school lunch or snack isn’t always guaranteed.

How You Can Help
Every child deserves access to healthy food and the care they need to grow with dignity. These are not luxuries, yet for too many children in Canada, that reality is out of reach.
Since 2013, NZF Canada has supported 30,155 Muslim children across Canada. Through Nourishing Futures, and with the Rotary Club of Toronto, that care is now expanding to reach children from all communities facing food insecurity.
A simple meal can shape a child’s entire day, supporting their confidence and focus in class. With your support, we can continue ensuring healthy, nutritious meals are within reach for more children and families across Canada.

Your donations will be directed to Nourishing Futures - School Meals for Children. In the case of any excess funds, they will be directed towards supporting eligible beneficiaries as most urgently needed. Please note, this initiative is not Zakat-eligible.
