Donate Stocks and Securities

A donation of stocks and securities is one of the most efficient ways to give. Since capital gains taxes do not apply, National Zakat Foundation will receive the full fair market value of the security donated. Your tax receipt will reflect this larger amount allowing you to give more.

Here are our answers to frequently asked questions.
Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes, National Zakat Foundation is a registered charity in Canada. When you donate online by credit card, your tax receipt is issued immediately to your email. For other donations, hold on to your transaction receipt, your tax receipt will be sent to you in February of the following year.

Do you accept employee matching gifts?

Yes! Many companies match employee donations. Click here to check if your employer will match your contribution to NZF Canada. ⁠

Can I donate in a currency other than CAD?

We accept online donations from all over the world, your credit card will be charged and converted into Canadian currency.

What administration cost does NZF incur?

Our administrative cost is 4-6% depending on the year of operation. Our policy is to cover all administrative costs through non-Zakat first.
