Since 2013, our mission has been to make the pillar of Zakat simple, transparent, and impactful across Canada. At National Zakat Foundation, we envision a Muslim community that is dignified and unified through the prophetic teachings of Zakat.
The generosity of our donors has empowered us to continue our noble mission in various ways.
Your donation translates into hope and compassion for neighbors in need right here in Canada.
Our services stretch across Canada, ensuring no one in need is left behind.
At National Zakat Foundation Canada, we believe in the transformative power of local Zakat. We focus on charity that helps our neighbors and those closest to home. Vulnerable communities right here in Canada often face a significant shortfall despite government assistance, with 1 in 10 Canadians currently living in poverty.
That’s where NZF Canada steps in. With your support, we provide 100% local Zakat to the most vulnerable Muslims in our community to give them hope for a better future.
Learn More About UsWe strive to help the most vulnerable in our community such as:
Among these are low-income individuals, those with disabilities, the elderly, refugees and newcomers in resettlement, single parents, new Muslims, and the homeless.
Since November 2023, National Zakat Foundation has distributed over $1.5 million to over 351 families from Gaza.
We have partnered with Nisa Foundation to support these families in their journey to healing and self-sufficiency.
Hundreds of families from Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they know and love.
"Zakat is only for the poor and the needy, for those employed to administer it, for those whose hearts are attracted to the faith, for freeing slaves, for those in debt, for Allah’s cause, and for needy travellers. This is an obligation from Allah." Quran - 9:60
