When a child loses a parent, their childhood can disappear overnight. For any average family, it takes a toll. For vulnerable families, the financial impact is tenfold.
Homework gets done while hungry. Playtime is threatened by eviction notices taped to the door. Instead of growing, a child learns to survive - worrying about rent, groceries, and whether tomorrow will be any safer than today.
These are the children of our community — the ones we pass by at school pick-ups, the ones playing beside our own children in the masjid.
Your support can move them from hardship to hope. Because every orphan life matters - including the ones living in your community.
Every child deserves a safe roof over their head, food on their table, and parents to love them. These are not luxuries. Yet for hundreds of Muslim children across Canada, the reality is quite different. Since 2013, NZF Canada has supported 30,155 children, and with your help, we can provide even more with the care and stability they deserve.

Fahad was barely ten years old when his father walked out on his family, leaving behind a wife and three young sons. Overnight, their childhood disappeared.
Their mother, Salma, did not speak English, had no work permit, and was ineligible for childcare benefits. With the little government support they received, she had to choose between paying for food or rent.
Basic needs like food, clothing, and utilities became a constant worry.
Fahad’s older brother couldn’t bear to see his younger brothers hungry, so he dropped out of school to help provide for the family.
Desperate for help, Salma reached out to NZF Canada. With your support, we were able to provide the family with essentials: school clothes for the children, nutritious food, help with rent and utilities, and emotional support. Slowly, life began to feel a little more stable.
Often, Fahad would help his mother communicate with us, sometimes sharing his small dreams for the future. “I wish I had a bike,” he once wrote. While we cannot fulfill every dream, together we can make sure children like Fahad have the essentials to survive, grow, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Behind every empty plate, every cold bed, and every unanswered question is a child waiting to be cared for.
We often picture orphaned children far away, but there are young lives here at home who quietly fall through the cracks — unseen, unsupported, yet just as deserving of safety, love, and a chance to simply be children.
Support our orphans today, because no child should be left alone. Not in our community.
Your donations will be directed to Support our Orphans. In the case of any excess funds, they will be directed towards supporting eligible beneficiaries as most urgently needed.
We support orphaned children across Canada, including those who have lost a parent due to illness, accident, war, conflict, or any other circumstance—regardless of their background or how long they have been in Canada. They are typically live with a surviving parent or a guardian such as a grandparent or relative.
In Islam, a yateem is a child who has lost their father. The Qur’an mentions orphans (yateem) over 20 times, repeatedly emphasizing the responsibility of the community to care for them.
For contemporary purposes, many scholars and charitable organizations extend this definition to include:
Children who have lost one or both parents and are still dependent.
Children whose father has died and whose household has limited or no stable income.
Children under the care of a guardian, such as a grandparent, relative, or approved foster caregiver, when both parents are absent.
Children with a living parent who is permanently or long-term incapacitated (due to severe illness, disability, or other circumstances), where the impact is equivalent to the loss of parental support.
This broader understanding aligns with the Islamic emphasis on protecting vulnerable dependents and ensuring that every child grows up with dignity, safety, and support.
Your sponsorship ensures a child receives essentials including nutritious food, clothing, education, healthcare, housing, and emotional support. Funds go directly to their caregiver to best meet the child's unique needs.
For child protection and privacy, direct communication and visits are usually not permitted.
Yes, as a registered Canadian charity, we issue tax receipts for all eligible donations.
Absolutely. Many sponsors choose to support multiple children, bringing hope to more families in need.
