The biting cold of harsh Canadian winters is just around the corner, leaving thousands of families who are already struggling to provide the basic necessities of life wondering how they’ll stay warm this winter.
As temperatures drop, newcomers and low-income families are often unable to pay their bills to stay warm, and struggle to afford even the most basic winter essentials and clothing that helps keep them and their little ones safe.
This winter, you can give the gift of warmth and peace of mind to some of the most vulnerable members of our community including single-mothers, the elderly, refugees, and the homeless.
Provides winter hats, scarves and mittens for a small family, keeping hands and ears warm for more fun in the snow.
Can provide a small family with warm winter clothing, such as sweaters and warm socks, to help them stay cozy.
Can provide winter jackets and boots for two adults so they can protect themselves from the biting cold.
Can give a family of four all the essentials they need to stay warm, including winter jackets, boots, and accessories.
Together with your support, we can create a strong, self-sufficient Muslim community, and help keep the cold away for hundreds of vulnerable families across Canada.
Winter garments are not a luxury, rather they are a necessity!
They help facilitate our movement outside of our homes, protecting our health and well-being. Those who lack winter clothing experience difficulties leaving their home to provide for their families, looking for work or purchasing necessities, and are at greater risk of developing health issues.
The impact of your donation can be multiplied! By giving the gift of warmth to families in need, you can help bring joy and maximize their quality of life.
In 2019, National Zakat Foundation helped over 40 families access warm winter clothing.
This year with your support, we can help even more families keep themselves and their loved ones warm and safe during the long and cold winter months.

Q: Can I donate clothes instead of money?
In order to protect the health and safety of our employees and beneficiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to accept physical donations at this time.
Q: How long does it take for the money to reach the recipients so they will be able to buy their clothes?
We are accepting donations all throughout the month of November and will distribute gift cards to recipients throughout the winter as required. Based on the application, eligible beneficiaries can receive funds to purchase winter clothing within a week.
