10 Duas for the 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah

Dhul Hijjah is one of best times of the Islamic year, as the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days” (Sahih Bukhari)

These ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the best in which to strengthen our relationship with Allah (SWT) by maximising our worship. And one of the best ways to do this is to make lots of dua. Here are ten duas for you to make on the ten days of Dhul Hijjah:

Day 1: Dua for Goodness

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ‍

Rabbana atina fi'd-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaba'n-nar.
"Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (Quran 2:201)

Day 2: Dua for Forgiveness

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ‍

Rabbighfir warham wa anta khairur rahimeen.
"My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful." (Quran 23:118)

Day 3: Dua for the Ummah

اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ عَنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْ أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allahumma aslih Ummata Muhammad. Allahumma farrij ‘an Ummati Muhammad. Allahumma Rham Ummata Muhammad [sallAllahu alayhi wasalam]
O Allah! Improve (help) the state of the Ummah of Muhammad. O Allah! Grant ease to the Ummah of Muhammad. O Allah! Have mercy on the Ummah of Muhammad.

Day 4: Dua for Protection

اللهم إنَّا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Allahumma inna naudhu bika mina'l-hammi wa'l-hazan, wa naudhu bika mina'l-'ajzi wa'l-kasal, wa naudhu bika mina'l-jubni wa'l-bukhl, wa naudhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.
"O Allah, we seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being overpowered by men."

Day 5: Dua for Rizq

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
"O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds."

Day 6: Dua for Acceptance

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيم

Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka antas-Sami’ul-‘Aleem.
"Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily! You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." (Quran 2:127)

Day 7: Dua for Guidance

اللهم إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الهدى، وَالتقى، والعفاف، والغنى

Allahumma inni as'aluka al-huda, wa at-tuqa, wa'l-afafa, wa'l-ghina.
"O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency."

Day 8: Dua for Barakah

اللهم بارك لي في أهلي، ومالي، وأعمالي، وبارك علينا في ذي رزق منك

Allahumma bārik lī fī 'ahli, wa mālī, wa a'malī, wa barak 'alayna fī dhī rizqin minka.
"O Allah, bless me in my family, my wealth, my deeds, and bless us in what You provide us."

Days 9: Dua for the Day of Arafah

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ

Lailaha illalahu wahadahu lasharikalahu lahulmulku walahu hamdu wahuva alakulli shayin kadir
There is no God but Allah alone Who has no partner, to whom dominion belongs, to whom praise is due, and who has power over everything. (Hisnul Muslim)

Day 10: Takbeerat for Eid

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَاَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْد

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and all praises are for Allah only.
