Yusuf’s Story
When Yusuf first came to NZF Canada, he was simply trying to keep his family afloat.
Your local giving helped cover essentials—food, rent, and bills. Then he came back. And then again. Eventually, our caseworker paused and asked what was really happening.
That’s when Yusuf unburdened his heart to us.
His wife was battling advanced cancer. Every dollar he earned, every benefit he received, went towards her treatment.
“How can I not try?” he said.
“She’s my wife. She’s the mother of my children.”
Yusuf wasn’t avoiding responsibility. He was working. He was trying. He was carrying more than any family should have to carry alone.

Your donations will be directed to supporting people with long-term illnesses, disabilities and their caregivers. In the case of necessity, funds will be directed towards supporting eligible beneficiaries as most urgently needed.
